Ulster University Credibility Interview

Ulster University London and Birmingham campuses are operated by QAHE Ltd and all the admission processes are handled by them. Credibility interview for Ulster University is conducted through Skype and it can take up to one hour to complete the interview.  In this post, I have listed a few possible questions and answers which could be useful to prepare for the interview.

How many universities have you considered?

Talk about the similarly ranked university providing similar courses for the same intake. Try to mention at least 4 universities and also memorize their location, duration, of course, fees, ranking, some course modules, etc.  Please see the following sample answers. 

Before selecting Ulster University, I have considered the following universities;

2. University Of Wales Trinity Saint David
3. Teesside University
4. University Of Bedfordshire

While searching for the universities in the UK, I took account of the few aspects like rankings, location, scholarships, and fees.

Why do you want to study at Ulster University? 

Mention some reasons why you choose this university among others that you have considered. You may shortly compare the universities in terms of ranking, fees, location, and module. 

Sample Answer:

There are several reasons for choosing Ulster University over the others but here are the salient reasons why I am inclined towards this university;

• This university is the top 150 young university according to Times Higher Education.
• This university is offering scholarships to international students.
• The course modules they are providing matches to my area of interest.
• This is based in the prime location of London.
• This university is offering me one year of professional practice year which helps me to gain real-life experience.
• I took the feedback of the student studying at this university and I am impressed.
• I compared this university using different college search engines like Times Higher Education and Hot Course abroad and I concluded this university is the best fit for me.

Which course do you want to study and why?

Talk about the reasons which may include your interest, scope, and career opportunities, relevancy with previous studies, encouraging from someone, your seniors suggested, etc. Try to be realistic and excited talking about this course.

Sample Answer:

I want to study BSc(Hons) Computing with placement and the following reasons are the encouraging factor to make me choose this course;

• Was fascinated by computers since my childhood.
• Had chosen computer science in high school and I want to complete a bachelor’s in a relevant course. 
• IT and computer professions are highly paid jobs in the world according to the Glassdoor report. 
• Computer graduate has a huge scope in Nepal so it will be easier for me to find a job quickly. 

Why do you want to study at the London campus?

Talk about the opportunity, diversity, and experience.

Sample Answer:

London is the most preferred city in Great Britain.  I can gain great experience for diverse cultures formed by international students all over the world. There are iconic attractions at every doorstep allowing me to enjoy and explore while studying.  Moreover, London is one of the business hubs and cities of technology which can definitely help me to learn things. 

 

Where will you be accommodating while in your studies? 

There is no on-campus accommodation available at this university. You need to stay in private accommodation near the campus location. Important: you should always mention accommodation close to your campus. 

Sample Answer:

I have booked accommodation just 6 minutes walk from the campus. This is located in the following address and costs GBP 420 per week.
